After-dinner entertainment and dance by Bitterly Divine
Bitterly Divine is a Vancouver-based new generation rock band with five of the seven members of the group coming from the Squamish Nation. Hard driving with a swaggering sense of fun, their songs also have cross-over power. They sing about Aboriginal issues, yes, but, as confirmed by all the non-Aboriginal faces in the audiences, everyone relates to songs about troubled journeys, lost girls and youth. They quickly established themselves as a must-see Vancouver band, playing more than 200 gigs over the last five years.
Little wonder the band now plays to increasingly bigger audiences at local and international events. Bitterly Divine is on a mission! They are continuing on after their Olympic and Paralympic experience where they performed six shows including; Live City Yaletown with special guest drummer Gregor Robertson, the Mayor of Vancouver. "On the rise" has been the headline leading into the year 2012 for Bitterly Divine, sharing the stage with bands such as: Wintersleep, Shane Yellowbird, 54-40, The Constantines, Thornley, Jim Byrnes, Maestro, and Wide Mouth Mason.
As a mainstay band at Vancouver's most popular R&B venue, The Yale, they have showcased a wide-range of talent by performing on many levels such as acoustic sets live on the radio to a sold-out arena in Winnipeg to a live audience on national television for the Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards where they were nominated for best New Group, best Rock CD, and best Group or Duo.

The Awards Banquet is included in your conference registration package!
